Ed Banger has been getting a lot of hype lately but are they just good at putting out nice singles and OK artists?

They have a lot of artists known for the singles (Dance, First Love, Hot Chick, I am somebody etc). Is that all Ed Bangers capable of?

I want to see one consistent album come from this label before I’m convinced their the future. Their catalog reminds me of the MTV style – one hit – and thats all that matters releases. Is the indie electronic scene’s attention span to short or can we get a good ALBUM for once instead of just singles.

DJ Mehdi has a full album out on Ed banger and it’s quite good. There were talk about Justice releasing their album on Ed Banger as well, after numerous successful singles, but it didn’t happen. Not sure about the other artists there, but Uffie should be ready with her first album pretty soon, and it could be a good pop-affair as well. Feadz and Oizo aren’t doing much wrong now days, and I think Uffie could do good!

But that said, I think the whole Ed Banger hype is really overrated. They have released a lot of shit as well, but the world needed a new hype and they got the style and attitude.. Not sure about their future as a hyped label, but they could keep on releasing quality electro-pop.
